Is your app performing it's best?

We've earned over $100,000 on the AppStore, and we think you can too.

In the last 2 years we've made a modest $56,000 from our self-published apps and over $100,000 since we began in 2011, and our apps are by no means popular. We've taken the time to write the story, so that you can do it too.

With a good update and the right marketing tactics you can generate meaningful revenue from your apps too.

How are your apps performing?

Apple's radical new design direction in iOS 7 & iOS 8 requires app developers
everywhere to rethink their approach to publishing on the AppStore.

So how do you publish an app that performs well without being well-known, or having a big marketing budget?

We think that's something every developer updating their apps has struggled with. Both Matt and I
have found approaches that make the most of the AppStore's huge potential.

As seen on

Generating meaningful revenue from your app is hard... really hard.

We wouldn't want you to get the wrong idea and think that $100,000 in AppStore earnings is easy. Nothing could be further from the truth. But what easy things are actually worth doing?

Our apps were consistently under-performing, and most of them fizzled down to 1 or 2 sales a month, nothing. It's a familiar story for lots of app developers worldwide.

Follow a proven plan

We've had dozens of apps on the store, and made plenty of mistakes, but in doing so we've also found what works well. In July 2013 one single app update more than doubled our overnight revenue (see the sales chart above).

We was able to focus on exactly who our audience were, and what made them purchase... More importantly with enough effort, this could apply to almost any app on the store, if you're willing to put the work in.
